New Congress, Civic Participation, and Primary Source Projects at the Library of Congress

The Library of Congress in collaboration with three educational institutes just launched 3 new interactives for iOS, Android and the web. These are engaging, fun, and informative apps created to increase civic participation through the use of primary sources.

Eagle Eye Citizen

Eagle Eye Citizen engages middle and high school students in solving and creating interactive challenges on American history, civics, and government with primary sources to develop civic understanding and historical thinking skills.

KidCitizen

KidCitizen is created for K-5 students to engage with history through primary source documents. There are nine interactive episodes where children explore civics and government concepts by investigating primary source photographs and connect them with their daily lives. Educators can also create their own episodes and share them with students.

Engaging Congress

Engaging Congress is a series of game-based learning activities that explore the basic tenets of a representative government and the challenges it faces in contemporary society. Created for elementary to middle school students.
