The Library of Congress Primary Source Analysis Tool is perfect for Middle to High School students, but often the language can be too advanced for younger kids.
Luckily, you can use the “I See, I Think, I Wonder” sheet below for elementary age kids when doing primary source analysis! All you do is substitute ‘I See’ for ‘Observe’, ‘I Think’ for ‘Reflect’, and ‘I Wonder’ for ‘Question’. Plus, you can use the same process and line of questioning that the Library of Congress recommends.
